Should You Take Amino Acids Before You Work Out?

A thing that everyone hears is that proteins and amino acids are the most important nutrients for body building and muscle building. Well! There is no counter-argument for that. They are certainly essential ingredients. But, remember that the other food categories of carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, and minerals are also essential in the right quantities for the overall growth and wellbeing of the body. Nothing can be taken in isolation as they do not have the desired effect on the human body. Too much or too little of anything is not right. Everything has to be balanced.

Coming back to proteins, amino acids and muscle building, these three are interrelated with each other. Proteins are the foundation for building muscle and amino acids are the building blocks of proteins. There are around twenty different types of amino acids that are used by the body to create different types of proteins required for the effective functioning of the tissues in the body. Out of these, there are nine amino acids that are called the essential amino acids. These essential amino acids cannot be produced by the body and hence are taken as part of the diet. These are generally taken as supplements. Most of the mass gainers have these amino acid supplements. Many sportspersons, who are into training, take amino acid supplements as part of their diet. This helps them to enhance their cardiovascular endurance along with giving a faster recovery and muscle strength. Therefore, taking amino-acids before working out is a great idea that is beneficial to all people who are into training and muscle building.

Many athletes include the branched-chain amino acids or BCAAs, as they are also called, in their diet. For an athlete, recovery after workout and exercise is quite important. And so, many athletes include amino acid supplements as part of their diet. These amino acids are beneficial even before a work and after a workout.
